Hutchinson Engineering has built an enviable reputation within the Offshore sector over the last few years, delivering projects on time, on budget and to the highest offshore quality standards.

Offshore projects which have recently been completed include Burbo Bank Extension, Walney and Blyth and Dudgeon. Further projects, such as Beatrice Wind Farm are currently ongoing.

All activities are carried out under our ISO 9001, 14001 & OSHAS 18001 procedures – this is in addition to our Achilles & FPal status and Execution Class 4 certification, under BS 3834-2. Painting and blasting are carried out to the most stringent standards, such as DNV and NORSOK. These procedures are completed at our purpose built in-house paint and blast facilities.

As part of our continued expansion into this sector we have recently opened a new facility, located directly on the quayside at the Port of Garston in Liverpool. This facility can be used to manufacture items from scratch, or to fabricate very large structures made from assemblies manufactured at our other facilities.

This enables structures that are too large to transport by road to be loaded directly onto the waiting vessel. Our purpose-built paint and blast facilities are located at our Widnes factory, with the second facility located directly at the Port of Garston. Painting and blasting processes are controlled by our in-house NACE inspection team.

Our offshore capabilities are further enhanced by our two automated tube cutters, capable of cutting and profiling tubes and rectangular hollow sections 1.2m OD. Projects are managed by our proven quality and production management (Kylie-ERP) system, with total traceability through all stages of production.
