Hutchinson wins three awards at Halton Business Awards.
Hutchinson was recognised across manufacturing, community support and overall business performance at this year’s Halton Business Awards, taking home three awards including Outstanding Business of the Year.
The result reflects the breadth of work happening across the company, from major engineering projects and continued investment in manufacturing capability, through to apprenticeships, charity work and support for local causes.
The Commitment to the Community Award recognises the work Hutchinson continues to do beyond its manufacturing operations. Through the Hutchinson Heroes campaign, the team supports local charities, community projects and education initiatives, with colleagues giving their time through fundraising, volunteering and outreach work.
This includes support for local causes, as well as helping young people gain a better understanding of careers in engineering and manufacturing. For Hutchinson, community involvement is not separate from the business. It is part of how the company works, how it recruits, and how it supports the area it has grown from.
The Manufacturer of the Year Award reflects Hutchinson’s continued development as a UK manufacturer, with a focus on quality, innovation, operational improvement and long-term business growth.
Ongoing investment in people, facilities, technology and manufacturing capability has helped the company continue to deliver major engineering projects from its facilities in Widnes. From design and fabrication through to production and delivery, the award recognises the standards maintained across the business every day.
The final award of the evening saw Hutchinson named Outstanding Business of the Year.
This award brings together the full picture: manufacturing capability, business growth, apprenticeships, community support, customer relationships and the work happening across every department.
Steve Adams, Managing Director of Hutchinson, said:
“Winning three awards on the night is a significant moment for the business, but the real value is in what they recognise.
The manufacturing award reflects the standards our teams work to every day across design, fabrication, production and delivery. The community award matters because Hutchinson has always been more than a place of work. We employ local people, support local causes and want to create opportunities for the next generation.
Being named Outstanding Business of the Year brings those two sides together. It recognises the work happening across the whole company, from the factory floor to project delivery, apprenticeships, charity work and the relationships we have built with customers and suppliers.
This is down to our people. Their skill, attitude and commitment are what drive the business forward.”
Hutchinson has continued to build its reputation as a leading North West manufacturer of complex steelwork, delivering major engineering projects from its facilities in Widnes for sectors including offshore wind, onshore wind and telecoms.
Alongside this growth, the company remains focused on local employment, skills development and community support.
The awards mark a positive moment for everyone involved in the business and reflect the progress Hutchinson continues to make as a manufacturer, employer and community partner.
A big thank you also to Halton Chamber of Commerce for organising the awards and continuing to support and celebrate businesses across the borough.
